Some of the changes for Merkaartor 0.12:
Language selection
It is now possible to choose the application languate at runtime. Additionally a config option for toggling the translation of tag-names has been added. This way you can opt to use the universal english tagnames without having to switch the whole application to display in english.

Geotagged Images
It is now possible to open geotagged images that you might have taken 'in the field'. This makes digicam-supported mapping much more convenient.
Live GPS Support
Finally with 0.12 it is possible to record GPS-trails directly using Merkaartor. This is one of the building-blocks of having Merkaartor work on mobile Devices (Nokia Maemo Platform and Windows CE) to allow direct mobile mapping.
Also note the new option to render streetnames in the canvas.
Layers menu
A layers menu has been added - useful for small screen-setups where there is no space to constantly have the dock visible.
Custom Look
Tweaking the Merkaartor look has been much improved - not only by new color configuration options for Hover, Focus and Relations but also by the updated style-editor.
